After Kiomizudera we went to Kyoto Handicraft Center, a place for foreigners! Oh and full of foreigners it was. You can pay in U.S. dollars and exchange money and stuff. It was 7 floors of mostly the same things (typical souvenirs). Lots of lovely kimonos. One floor had handmade dolls and you could watch someone as she made one right there. Another floor had AMAZING woodblock prints, with 2 people working on separate wood blocks. The demonstrations were nerve wrecking because they were doing such incredibly delicate work and I didn't want to distract them. It's so easy to ruin the whole piece. I didn't buy anything there, too expensive.
