it was a picture perfect day
(and i have never in my life seen so many people taking pictures, except maybe at weddings)
so off i i went to see christo & jeanne claude's project.

the park was filled with happy people
enjoying new york at its best
maybe this was the biggest gift of the project
creating such a positive communal experience.

i have always been a die-hard central parker
from age 12 i fought any encroachment that would turn valuable park land into a commercial venture.
but this is totally appropriate,
it is temporary,
it transforms the space,
it does not diminish or deny the park's inherent beauty
and it has brought people together.
it has an undeniable joy
