my first foray into normal
no, not what you think
even though to be drinking this at 17; the local beer, away at camp seems totally normal, completely all american.

(first of all, i was a counselor but it was at a camp for emotionally disturbed kids and it was anything but normal)

and the thing about it was not the beer per say
it was the carbonation
i was maybe the only kid i knew who never drank soda;
i hated bubbles
and until i started drinking beer (and by default,overcame that dislike),
i had never had a coke, a pepsi, a sprite, not even a ginger ale to settle my tummy

to this day i have never drunk a whole real coke,
by the time i was able to deal with carbonation i was already zapped by the concept of 1 calorie per can
