everything is growing out of control
i can't tell one plant from another
i have clumps of little sun gold tomatoes that i can hardly get to
the cukes become mammoth before i find them
the peppers and eggplant are struggling to compete for a spot of sun
the borage has taken over
and the nasturtiums are close behind
there is no rhyme
nor reason
and the mosquitoes are having a heyday
especially when i arrive
the hose head has gone all screwy
and now only works as a sprinkler system
i don't have stakes high enough to support the tomatoes
(they have long since outgrown their cages
4'... humph)
the sorrel is in there somewhere
but it's struggling
the lettuce/spinach patch is deserted

ah the joys of mid-summer gardening
