first thing this morning
we put on long pants
and bug spray
and dug oski's grave
beside smudge's
it might have been more appropriate
to put him under the forsythia bush
where he spent so many long hours
but digging there
would have been a nightmare
and probably would have killed the bush
besides
i thought he should be next to her
