every so often
my next door neighbor gets a hair up her ass
and chops away at the vines that grow on our shared fence

the grape ivy i don't mind,
it grows quickly and takes over everything

but when it comes to the old growth honeysuckle
which reminds me of my childhood
and which i painstakingly train to cover the fence
it makes me angry and it feels personal
because i have spoken to her about it in the past
