re: archiving
why have i not responded?
well i don't ever want to stop any forward motion,
but
i think that ultimately,
the place that we archive should be really "owned" by us
which flickr is not, nor is fotola
we can't get to that stuff with out them
and systems can fail...

(what happened with flickr today scared me,
they reversed it
and said it wasn't a "hack"
but it could have been
and soooooooooooooo much work would have been lost!)

i think the archiving process is tedious and time consuming,
so
when we do it
we want to have it in a format that is readily retrievable on many levels and that can be easily backed up.

i am all for dealing just with recent images,
i don't even have the stamina to go too far back
(and haven't for ages)
definitely can't deal with stuff before the move
and
since i have been taking so few images lately, there are very few archived images that i would even consider
since i have used basically everything in other posts
(sad but true)

but
because i don't think of my process as being particularly linear
(and by that i mean i often feel i make my paintings out of order)
i would like to be able to pull from all things that i have shot recently
especially because often i take a picture because i "know" i will "need" it
this happens so often
i "know" to take something
and then
1 hour, 1 day, 1 week later
you post something and i understand that little voice inside my head telling me to shoot...

but i am willing to try the "all new/in response" approach as well

let me know
:D

so i've made the last 3 posts here public:
tag
you're it
:D

the little, neverhteless fully clear, voice within. i hear it too!

ok, i do understand your point of view concerning the archiving process. i did not notice the flickr fail, i haven't been online too long.

the just recent, made as answer, image approach will be rather stimulating for me, in times i don't shoot out there too often, will have me keep a keener eye on.

let's let things rolling and keep them rocking in here!
