she called me today,
about an hour before her recital
and told me:
"you have to use the lock
so that no one can see,
close the book,
so your dreams are private"

she's only 5...

she gave me a dream journal for christmas
she wants one, with a lock
and she wanted me to have one too.
they couldn't find one that locked,
but it does have an elastic to keep it closed
to keep my dreams safe

how did she know what i need?
