i was just thinking to myself
that i hadn't seen a lot of squirrels lately,
no one has been digging up the pots on the deck
no one has been scampering across the skylights...

and then,
and then,
yesterday,
i am watering the tomatoes
and i find that one plant has been stripped
of all it's leaves
AND
all it's little cherry tomatoes
:000

now,
none of the plants on the deck
are doing well this year
not even the morning glories
(which after all
are one step away from weeds)
and the tomato plants seem a bit stunted
so the few tomatoes that it looks like i will get
are (were) really precious to me

i am ...
furious?
sad?
discouraged!
