for the past 2 nights
i have been dreaming about butterflies
2 nights ago they were kind of robotic
and large
they were very colorful, bright blues and greens
with wings that seemed to be like molded plastic
there were other bugs too
equally colorful and outsized

last night there was one,
in the bedroom
it landed on me
and then there were 2 and 3 and 4 and 5
and soon there were swarms
baabar nailed a couple
but they kept coming

this morning i checked on mine
it’s 2 weeks since she emerged,
she is not looking super
but it looks as if she is eating
4 hours later
not so good
and i think about my dreams
and i think i should let her go
i put out my finger
and she does crawl on to it
but i know that it is time
