brought my machine into apple
it needs a new battery
and god knows what else...
it's a flat fee to fix it
AND
it will take 2 weeks

if it was any other time,
i would probably consider replacing it,
(it's 6+ years old)
but apple is in the middle of releases
and the new machines
are due any day
however
considering the pervasive "supply chain" issues,
i don't believe they will have machines available for a while...
