9/11

always a somber day...
i remember 22 years ago,
feeling that these lives that were lost,
must not be in vain
and that these lights
would help us
"never forget"

but forget what?
that we were attacked?
that innocent lives were lost?
that fanaticism breeds evil?

have we forgotten?
have we forgotten that you can't take continuously from the rest of the world and not be seen as evil?
have we forgotten what an innocent life is and what our responsibilities are for ALL the innocents in the world?
that fanaticism breeds evil?

or did we just never learn?

tonight,
there were huge thunderstorms
and i am not feeling well
so i settled for just photographing the lights
from the end of my block...

i took 6 shots
and the clouds started rolling back in
