Jen's green tea something
from my notebook:
7/10
I set my alarm to 5:00am so I could go to the morning ceremony again. Well, 5am rolled around, Martha had to turn my alarm clock off for me, and after 5 minutes of going back to sleep it was already 6:45! "oops, 15 minutes late to the ceremony," I thought. Then Martha mentioned something about breakfast and I realized it was 6:45, not 5:45. oops!
I got up and rushed to the bathroom and sinks to get ready, but I was stopped by 3 Sacred Heart girls who were taaaalkative and nice! But I had been awake for 2 minutes so I was kind of dead asleep and still dreaming. I told them that I dreamt of one of those claw machines where it was physically impossible to get one of the toys. Then they talked about how they dreamt of being told to get out of their rooms by some woman at 5am to attend the ceremony, and how it probably wasn't a dream because they have a really strict chaperone named Miwa who sounded like the woman in their dreams. I thought, "Miwa? I wonder if they're talking about our Miwa... she's not strict!" Yeah it was the same person. How strange!
Anyway then I went to breakfast (amazingly not in pajamas!) which was so good! The rice was flavored with shiitake mushrooms, and it was the best rice I have ever eaten in my life. The miso had giant pieces of soft tofu, and the sweet dish included wonderfully sweet carrots. This time the egg wasn't scrambled, just mushed, so it tasted... eggy. I think there might have been a piece of fish... whatever it was all delicious!
Then we went to Kyoto Station again and found out that Starbucks is more expensive in Japan than in America. Right? Or maybe just some things in Starbucks are... I don't know, I never buy anything from there. I don't know what I'm talking about. Next stop... the place we were all waiting for!!!!
